Individual writing of a textbook/book
Why do academic teachers write textbooks?
In a textbook, a scientist accumulates the information he has. Unlike articles, there is no need to frantically save every paragraph in an attempt to fit into the required volume - who knows, maybe this or that paragraph will be cited and affect the teacher's rating in Google Scholar. The citation rate and the Hirsch index are what demonstrate how successful a scientist is and how popular his ideas are among colleagues (in addition, doors to various universities will definitely be open to such an employee). However, rating and work are far from everything. Publishing textbooks can also be interesting in terms of finances.
What do you get when you order the writing and publication of a textbook?
Writing a textbook according to your requirements
3 independent reviews and the approval of the University Academic Council
Assigning an individual ISBN number to a textbook
Cover design by designer
Posting a textbook on the publisher's website and assigning a DOI
Printed copy (optional) – paid separately
What are the benefits of publishing a textbook for a scientist?
1. Books of your own authorship can be posted on websites and sold (the only exceptions are those materials that are published under the secret classification – this is the case in universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system).
2. Books can be submitted to a competition (may be held by a publishing house or various ministries; there is usually a prize for the winning places).
3. Participation in grant programs from international organizations (here, a prize may also be awarded, or simply a textbook will be another plus in the scientist’s piggy bank of achievements, which will increase the chances in the fight for a grant).
4. Closing one of the points of licensing requirements for educational activities.
