In June 2024, several journals were excluded from the Scopus scientific database, which has a significant impact on the academic community. The excluded publications include:

🔹 American Surgeon - excluded due to anomalies detected by the Radar system.

🔹 Corporate Governance and Organizational Behavior Review — also deprived of status due to anomalies in the Radar system.

🔹 European Journal of Contemporary Education — issues with publication and content quality led to exclusion.

🔹 Journal of Health and Translational Medicine — reason for exclusion: anomalies detected through the Radar system.

🔹 Journal of Medicine and Life — also lost status due to anomalies in the Radar system.

🔹 Universal Journal of Agricultural Research - excluded due to anomalies detected by the Radar system.

Radar system

Scopus's Radar system helps identify journals exhibiting anomalous publication activity. Key features of the Radar system include:

📌 Анализ объемов публикаций: Резкое увеличение количества статей может свидетельствовать о том, что журнал принимает больше рукописей, чем может должным образом рецензировать.

📌 Время рецензирования: Слишком короткий период от подачи до публикации статей может свидетельствовать о недостаточно тщательном процессе рецензирования.

📌 Концентрация авторов: Если большая часть статей публикуется одними и теми же авторами или из одной установки, это может свидетельствовать о неэтичной практике или манипуляциях с показателями цитирования.

The exclusion of journals from Scopus has several consequences for the scientific community:

❌ Потеря доверия: Authors who have published their work in these journals may face problems when assessing their scientific work.

❌ Пересмотр работ: Scientists who have published in these journals may need to find new platforms to publish their research.

❌ Потеря рейтинга: Universities and research institutions may lose rankings because their research in journals excluded from Scopus will no longer be taken into account.

Conclusions:

Journal delisting from Scopus is an important tool for maintaining the quality of scientific literature. It serves as a warning signal to publishers and editors about the need to maintain high quality and ethical standards. The Radar system helps identify journals with anomalous activity and alerts them to potential violations. For scientists, it serves as a reminder of the importance of carefully selecting journals for publication and ensuring their compliance with international standards.
