The last journal update in the Scopus database occurred in October 2024. In January, Scopus released a new update covering December 2024, during which 12 journals were officially removed. Additionally, four more journals were excluded, losing all article indexing, but they were not included in the official list. In this publication, we will introduce these journals.
We warned you about the 4 journals that were deleted in our column. Journals that will soon lose their Scopus indexingThe updated list of candidates can be viewed Here.
Important Scopus update
Previously, when Scopus removed a journal by completely de-indexing its articles for violating its requirements, it would be included in the official list. Now, such journals are no longer included in the official list. Scopus removes articles from recent years when there were serious violations, and simply marks such a journal as indexed until a certain year.

Conclusion:
At the Academy of Articles, we urge all scientists, authors, and researchers to be careful when choosing journals for their publications. It's important to thoroughly check the reputation of a publication and its status in scientific databases. Given recent changes to Scopus's policy, which could lead to the de-indexing of journals and their articles, we recommend avoiding the risks associated with low-quality publications. Pay attention to the journal's editorial standards, peer-review processes, and indexing period. We are always ready to assist you in choosing reliable publication platforms to ensure your research maintains high visibility and citation rates.
