Today, I present to you the final installment of this year's beloved column, "Scopus Delisting Contenders." We launched this column in April 2024, and I'm delighted that it has quickly become popular among Kazakhstani scholars. Here are some statistics about our "Journals that will soon lose their Scopus indexing" section:<\/strong><\/p>

This year, I have analyzed for you 17 journals that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus.

Of these:<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c 7 have already lost indexation,<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c 6 are under review and will be excluded soon,<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c In 3 excluded journals, articles were completely removed from the Scopus database.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Hundreds of scientists saved more than 100 000 $<\/strong>, without publishing their articles in these predatory publications.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

We will continue to publish our column six times a year next year and will be even more careful in analyzing journals that may be excluded.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The first magazine on our list.<\/p>

In fact, this magazine is not as bad as those we wrote about in previous articles, such as International Journal of Religion<\/a><\/span> or Journal of Echohumanism<\/a>However, this magazine came to the attention of the Radar system.<\/p>

\u274c Increase in the number of published articles per year.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c Increase in the number of special issues in 2023-2024.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c Early publication (the journal has already published 2 issues for 2025).<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c Significant increase in the publication fee over the past year (from 800 to 1500 $).<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Current status:<\/strong><\/p>

The journal is currently under review by the CSAB Journal Advisory Board, and articles published in it will not be indexed until the review is completed. The review is expected to be completed in January.<\/p>

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

This journal has a 50% chance of being reviewed by Scopus, as double-blind peer review was indeed conducted. There is a 95% probability that articles indexed in 2023 and 2024 will not be removed from the Scopus database, even if the journal is excluded.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This journal was accepted into Scopus in 2023. It is the younger sibling of the Multidisciplinary Science Journal, which is also a candidate for relegation and which we wrote about previously. Like its older sibling, the journal is following a similar path, increasing the number of issues and articles without regard for quality.<\/p>

\u274c A large number of special issues.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c Increase in the number of paid articles.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c Early publication of issues (the journal is already publishing the May 2025 issue).<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u274c A very large number of articles in the "Accepted Articles" section (at the time of preparing this article, more than 100 articles were posted in this section on the site).<\/p>

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>


The journal 99% is likely to be excluded from Scopus in 2025, just like its older sibling. Articles published in 2023-2024 will not be removed from the database, as they do not contain any serious violations (e.g., publications that do not correspond to the journal's profile, etc.).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This journal has long been indexed in Scopus and was a reputable publication until 2024. We don't know whether the journal was acquired or the editorial board changed, but unfortunately, the journal has deviated from its original path. It has started publishing everything and doing it very quickly for 700 $. This journal has very serious violations compared to its predecessors and is facing exclusion from Scopus.<\/p>

\u274c The number of articles increased from 15 per year (2009-2023) to more than 1000 in 2024.<\/p>

Current status:<\/strong><\/p>


The journal is currently under review by the CSAB Journal Review Board, and articles published in it will not be indexed until the review is complete. The review is expected to be completed in January or February.<\/p>

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>


The journal will be excluded from the database with a probability of 100%. It can also be assumed that articles published in 2024 and 2025 will be removed from the Scopus database with a probability of 99%.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
