Hello, dear scientists! The Academy of Articles continues our column about publications that will soon lose indexation in Scopus. Recently, you have been highly appreciating our materials, sending journals for review, expressing gratitude, and therefore we are happy to release the fifth part of our column - Contenders for removal from Scopus.
Today, quite a few journals have lost indexing, which we wrote about earlier. Our column is becoming useful for many scientists from the Republic of Kazakhstan, helping to save both money and time.
— Review of Economics and Finance
— Journal of Higher Education: Theory and Practice
— Azerbaijan Pharmaceutical and Pharmacotherapy Journal
— REVISTA DE GESTIO SOCIAL E AMBIENTAL
— International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications in Engineering
— International Journal of Chemical and Biochemical Sciences
We also inform you about one publication that is listed as active on the Scopus website, but it has already been excluded from the Scopus database - Eastern European and Central Asian Research.
Let's start with the first domestic edition - Scientific Herald of Uzhhorod University. Series PhysicsWe wrote a separate article about this magazine, which you can read here.
We would not have paid attention to this publication if it were not for numerous requests from authors from the Republic of Kazakhstan asking to analyze it, since the journal has published more than 500 articles exclusively by Kazakhstani authors and in various specialties, despite the fact that the journal is dedicated only to physics.
The journal has already published more than 500 articles scientists from Republic of Kazakhstan in various fields, not just physics. However, it is important to note that only 297 of these articles were indexed in 2024. The remaining 300 articles were not and will not be included in the Scopus database. But with 100% probability, the indexed articles will be removed from the Scopus database, and the journal will be excluded.
Currently, the journal has already come to the attention of Scopus and is being re-evaluated. According to our forecasts, the journal will be excluded from the Scopus database, and the articles will be de-indexed with 100% probability by the end of 2024. Below is a screenshot with the response from Scopus specialists.
The second publication on our list today is Journal of Ecohumanism.
The publication was founded in 2022, and was already included in Scopus at the end of 2023. In our expert opinion, this publication was specially created for such purposes. Having entered the index at the end of 2024, the journal actively began inviting scientists to publish, offering publications in the second quartile for $ 1,250. And the number of issues increased sharply from two per year to six per year.
Until the third issue in 2024, the journal published high-quality and thematic articles, but from the third issue it began to actively publish everything. In issues 3 and 4, the journal published more than 400 articles on various topics unrelated to the journal.
Scopus currently indexes only 29 articles, and there is a high probability that all the rest will never be indexed. But even if some of them are indexed, there is a 100% probability that they will be removed.
We expect the journal to be excluded from the Scopus database by the end of 2024, with all articles from 2024 removed from the database.
✔️Google Scholar (first result) from 1 month
✔️Scopus (first results) from 2 - 3 months.
✔️Web of Science (first results) from 2 - 3 months.
And the latest publication for today is The Journal of Angiotherapy.
The journal was accepted to Scopus in 2022. Until early 2024, the journal published good articles on its topic, releasing 2-3 issues per year. In 2024, the journal began publishing articles on any medical topic, releasing 7 issues in 2024.
In 2024, the journal published more than 250 articles, of which approximately half were indexed in Scopus.
The rest, in our opinion, will not be indexed. There is also a possibility of deletion of articles from the Scopus database for 2024, although it is not as high as for the previous two journals, but still there.
So, today we looked at three publications that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus. The reasons for all of them are the same. They all fall under the radar of the Radar system, which reacts to the following factors:
This time we showed you three new titles that we predict will soon be excluded from the Scopus database. Some titles we wrote about are still indexed, but it's only a matter of time. As soon as they are excluded, we will inform you immediately.
Please spread this information among your colleagues so that they do not waste money in vain during this difficult time.
