Good afternoon, dear scientists! This is Vasily Malets, Director of the Academy of Articles.
Today I present to you the final part of this year's favorite column "Contenders for Exclusion from Scopus". We launched this column in April 2024, and I am very pleased that it quickly became popular among Kazakhstani scientists. I am sincerely grateful to you for regularly writing to us with requests to check certain publications that, in your opinion, may be excluded from Scopus.
If you want to learn how to analyze journals in Scopus on your own the way we do, then tomorrow our online webinar on the topic of "webinar topic" will take place at 19:00 Kazakhstan time. I will be glad to see you at the webinar!

Some statistics about our section “Journals that will soon lose indexing in Scopus”:
This year I have analyzed for you 17 journals that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus.
Of these:
Hundreds of scientists have saved more than 100 000 $, without publishing their articles in these predatory publications.
We will continue to run our column 6 times a year next year and will be even more careful in analyzing journals that may be excluded.
If you have a journal that you think is worth checking out, please email us. info@a-articles.kz.
We have also created a table of contenders for you, where you can see a list of all the journals we have written about and their current statuses.
So, in our final part we will look at 3 journals that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus.
The first magazine on our list.
In fact, this magazine is not as bad as those we wrote about in previous articles, such as International Journal of Religion or Journal of EchohumanismHowever, this magazine came to the attention of the Radar system.
Magazine characteristics:
Main violations:
Current status:
The journal is already under review by the CSAB Journal Board, and articles published in it will not be indexed until the review is completed. The review is expected to be completed in January.
Conclusion:
This journal has a 50% chance of being reviewed by Scopus, as double-blind peer review was indeed conducted. There is a 95% chance that articles indexed in 2023 and 2024 will not be removed from the Scopus database even if the journal is excluded.
This journal was accepted into Scopus in 2023. It is the younger sibling of Multidisciplinary Science Journal, which is also a contender for relegation, and which we wrote about earlier. Like its older brother, the magazine is following the same path, increasing the number of issues and articles, without paying attention to quality.
Magazine characteristics:
Main violations:
Conclusion:
With probability 99% the journal will be excluded from Scopus in 2025, like its older brother. Articles published in 2023-2024 will not be removed from the database, as they do not contain serious violations (for example, publications that do not correspond to the profile of the journal, etc.).
🔍 Current proposals for co-authorship in scientific publications Scopus, Web of Science and KKSON;
Subscribe +This journal has been indexed in Scopus for a long time and was a good publication until 2024. We do not know whether the journal was bought or the editorial board changed, but unfortunately the journal has deviated from its path. It started publishing everything and doing it very quickly for 700 $. This is a journal with very serious violations, compared to the previous ones, and it will be excluded from Scopus.
Magazine characteristics:
Main violations:
Current status:
The journal is already under review by the CSAB Journal Board, and articles published in it will not be indexed until the review is completed. The review is expected to be completed in January-February.
Conclusion:
The journal will be excluded from the database with a probability of 100%. It can also be stated with a probability of 99% that articles published in 2024 and 2025 will be removed from the Scopus database.
Dear colleagues, today I shared with you the analysis of 3 journals that will soon lose indexing in Scopus. You can see the status of all journals in our table of contenders.
Next year, our “Challengers” column will be published every 2 months. We also plan to launch a video version of our column and will continue to improve our methods of analyzing publications in order to warn you about risky journals as early as possible. Thank you for staying with us!
Sincerely,
Vasily Malets - Director of the Academy of Articles
