A newcomer to scientific writing might think becoming an author is a piece of cake: just sit back and write articles on topics you've always known. But is it really that simple? Sometimes you're sitting there with a blank page in front of you, seemingly equipped with everything you need: desire, literacy, a computer, but the most important thing is missing—coming up with a topic to write about. Nothing, absolutely nothing, comes to mind!

Today academy of articles will give you some tips for a good start in the scientific writing profession. Indeed, choosing a direction for your articles can be quite difficult, especially if you're serious about your work and want to sell your article, not just keep it in the back of your mind, but sell it for a good price. So where do you start?

Take a look around! There are countless topics in your niche, and any scientist can come up with countless topics for future articles. Perhaps you need a proper textbook on a particular subject, for example, nuclear physics, or something else... After all, these instructions are often written exclusively in scientific, "engineering" language, which is incomprehensible to the average person.

So why not write an article about something you really understand, or create a tutorial for the internet, but in your own, simple language? Everything can be made accessible, and anything can be explained so that even a child can understand it.

Here's an example. Do you know what a scientific author is? There's not much information on the topic online. It can be described as work related to writing custom scientific texts. A perfectly logical explanation, but not exhaustive. By comparison, copywriting is writing custom texts on various topics. As we can see, both definitions are very similar, so the average person might not immediately understand the difference.

But everything can be explained in simpler terms. Copywriting is putting your thoughts down on paper. The topic could be a personal story, a film or book experience, etc. Writing scientific articles involves writing texts in scientific language, adhering to all the rules for publishing scientific texts, including citations, strict definitions, and so on. Writing such texts is much more complex and requires the appropriate qualifications and training. At a minimum, you should have a good understanding of the scientific topic you're writing about.

We hope we've shed some light on what a scientific article author does. Concepts like copywriting and rewriting may seem similar to scientific writing at first glance, but in reality, they are completely different activities.

Any scientist can grasp the meaning of this profession and earn money from it. And it won't interfere with your main job, as you can write articles anytime and anywhere—all you need is a pen and paper, or a laptop.

But not everything is so rosy: be prepared for the possibility of an unpleasant moment. You've put a lot of effort into writing a scientific article, and it's not accepted. In fact, the requirements for this type of work are very strict, and you'll have to carefully check everything several times before submitting it.

But don't despair! Your article will definitely be accepted, as long as you approach the process responsibly. The main advice for authors is to write on topics you understand well; then, producing a high-quality paper will be easy.
