Google Scholar Registration Guide

Introduction

Google Scholar or Google Scholar is a convenient tool for searching scientific articles, books, dissertations and other academic materials. In addition, the platform allows you to create a personal researcher profile, where you can track citations, add publications and demonstrate your achievements. In this article, we will discuss in detail how to create a profile in Google Scholar.

What will you need?

Before you start registration, please prepare:

Google account. If you don't have one yet, sign up with Google first.
Information about your publications. These may be articles, theses, books or other materials.
Photo for profile. Select a professional image.

Step 1: Login to Google Scholar

Follow the link: https://scholar.google.com/.
Click "Enter" in the upper right corner of the page.
Sign in to your Google account. If you don't have one, click "Create an account" and fill out the registration form.

Step 2: Create your profile

After logging in, click on "My Profile".

2. A form will open for filling in the information:

- Your first and last name. Please enter the full name you use in scientific publications.
- Your organization. For example, the university or research institute where you work or study.
- E-mail. It is recommended to use the official address of your organization (e.g. @university.edu).
- Scientific interests. Enter keywords that describe your research topics (e.g. bioengineering, sustainable development).
- Website link. If you have a personal page or a page on your organization's website, add it.

3. Click "Next."

Step 3: Add publications

Google Scholar will automatically suggest a list of publications associated with your name.

Please review the suggested list.
Select your publications and click "Add".
If some articles are not in the list:

Click "Add manually".
Fill out the form:
Title of the publication.
Authors.
Journal or place of publication.
Year.
DOI or link (optional).

💡 Advice: If you have a lot of posts that are not detected automatically, add them gradually to avoid errors.

Step 4: Set up automatic profile updates and make it public

Google Scholar can automatically add new publications to your profile.

Enable this feature if you want your profile to always be up to date.
